If you think you don't care for the Siri AI features, you will probably find yourself impressed. Siri AI sounds promising.
But at the same time, it seems Apple might have focused way too much on Siri's conversational skills instead of what it can actually do inside and across apps. They did not bring back the multi-command prompts they announced at WWDC 24. We still are limited to simple, single commands.
Apple's commitment to privacy, even amidst AI, has always been the huge sell of the ecosystem. The company says it runs on its own servers and encrypts everything you do with Apple AI so Apple can't see it.
Though, regular Siri features like skipping to the next song hopefully doesn't suddenly take five seconds longer just because the AI has to understand first.
That said:
How much all this indexing behind the scenes will impact battery life?
Will apple let you use you configure your own AI?
Will users have option to choose between the classic Siri and the new Siri? There are many people who avoid using LLMs as much as possible.
Only way to find out is to wait till it launches in the fall of 2026 (likely in September).
